Exceptions to Soccer Rules:
Full soccer rules with the following exceptions - no headers, slide tackles, and goal kicks will be required to exit the outer box prior to any non-kicking teams player entering the box or any player touching the ball. All early touches will result in a re-kick.
For the 2/3 grade league all handballs in the box will result in an indirect kick from a predetermined penalty spot.

Highlighted Rules that will be followed but not the only rules:
For the 4/5/6 grade any contact with the keeper(goalie) in the penalty box (small box around the goal) will result in a foul and result in a free kick and may result in a yellow and/or red card being given to the offending player.
Any pass back by the goalie’s own team using the foot where the goalie picks the ball up with their hands results in an indirect penalty at the location where the pass was initiated.
-
Proper throw ins - both feet on the ground until the ball is completely released and both hands behind the head and ball thrown straight forward. Illegal throw ins result in yielding possession of the ball.
-
Physical contact allowed but no pushing (will put an emphasis on full extension), tugging of the shirt, tripping, or intentionally dangerous plays.
-
No high kicks (kick at or above the lower chest area with another player in the general area)
-
Offsides will be called in the 4/5/6 grade divisions - no offsides in the 2/3 grade divisions
-
Proper goal kicks will be followed

Proper keeper rules (4/5/6 grade division only)
-
Coaches will coach from the player side only and on their half of the field (no one behind the goals or on the spectator sidelines)

Handballs will be called, those in the box results in a penalty kick. A Handball in soccer is a foul where a player intentionally touches the ball with their hand or arm, between the tips of their fingers and the bottom of their shoulder that results in an advantage to the player that committed the handball. Touching the ball with the shoulder is not a handball and unintentional contact between the ball and hand is not handball. The shoulder is defined as anything above the armpit (including the part of the arm above the armpit). Handballs in the box shall result in a penalty kick. 2/3 grade divisions shall take this from the penalty spot. With no goalies.
-
Substitutions can occur on any throw in (this is different than the next level) or on dead balls (such as a goal kick)

- Kicking or attempting to kick a player.
- Tackling a player illegally.
- Charging at an opponent player.

-
Generally, an indirect free kick is given to the opposing team when a player commits a foul other than a penalty one (dangerous play) or violates certain technical requirements of the football rules. Most indirect free kicks are given due to fouls committed by goalkeepers. According to soccer's free kick rules, indirect free kicks are awarded when the goalkeeper:
-
Touches the ball with his hands after his teammate has purposely kicked or made a trickery back pass to him.
-
Holds the football with his hand for more that 6 seconds before releasing it.
-
Touches the ball with hands after releasing it from his possession, before another player has touched it.
-
Touches the ball with his hands after he has received it directly from a throw-in taken by a team-mate
Indirect free kick can as well be awarded when an opposing player:
-
Stops the goalkeeper from releasing the ball from his hands.
-
Plays in a dangerous way.
-
Interferes in the movement of an opponent player unless when shielding.
A yellow card is shown to a player/coach who commits unsporting behavior, enters or leaves the field without permission from the referee, shows indecency by word or action, continually infringes the rules or delays start of the game.
A Red Card is shown means dismissal from the match and showed for serious offenses. A player who picks up a second yellow card in a single match is shown the red card. Serious foul play, violent conduct abusive or offensive language and deliberate handling of the ball are fouls that get the referee to show a red card.
Playing time and conditions:
-
Regular season games mean nothing. Makes sure all the kids get to play and play a lot. This is first about fun for the kids!!!
-
I expect every kid to get in the games during the tournament games. How long they are in is at the discretion of the coach. The tournament is the only time I expect any level of trying to win kind of mentality. However, this does not come at the expense of any child’s mental well being. If team doesn’t play every kid during the tournament they will forfeit that game. You all know what’s right and what’s wrong.
-
No games in lightning
-
No games below 45 degrees
-
No games if it’s raining and 60 degrees or below
-
Field is unplayable or will result in damage to field or injury to players
-
Otherwise we will play (we will play in the rain)
Coaches behavior:
-
I expect the best behavior from our coaches. You will not berate the officials. You will not argue with other coaches. You will not berate kids on the field. You will not yell condescending comments like kill them, strangle them, kick them while in the teeth, etc. if you have an issue bring it to me. If you do any of these things you will be asked to step down and/or leave the fields.

Parents behavior:
-
I expect the best behavior from our parents. This is a kid’s game trying to teach the kids about certain elements of life, prepare some of them to play at the next level, and for everyone to have fun. Parents will not berate the officials. Parents will not argue with coaches. Parents will not berate kids on the field. Parents will not yell condescending comments like kill them, strangle them, kick them while in the teeth, etc. if you have an issue bring it to me. If you do these things, you will be asked to leave the fields.
